Massive beam headed to Zoo Interchange causes backups near Hwy 100 & Greenfield Ave
MILWAUKEE -- A massive beam being transported to the Zoo Interchange construction project caused a traffic backup near the intersection of Highway 100 and Greenfield Avenue Tuesday evening, July 5th.
According to officials with the state traffic operations center, the beam was traveling eastbound on Greenfield Avenue and headed for the Zoo Interchange, when something caused it to stop at the intersection.

It is unclear what caused the truck to stop.
Police were in the area directing traffic as the beam was in the middle of the intersection.
Officials say the large truck carrying the beam has since moved from the intersection and headed to the construction project.
No other details have been released.
