Man without a pulse pulled from "fully engulfed" duplex fire
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Fire officials say a man was pulled from a duplex after a fire broke out on Thursday, April 17th.
The call for the fire came in just after 5:00 p.m. It happened near 53rd and Nash.
Fire officials say when the man was initially pulled from the home, he did not have a pulse. However, he was able to be revived.
The man was initially transported to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Fire officials believe the fire started on the second floor/upper unit of the duplex. The top portion of the home was fully engulfed, according to a fire official.
Fire officials say there were no working smoke detectors installed in the duplex's upper unit. Officials did find two smoke detectors still in the packaging.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
The American Red Cross is on scene, helping those affected.
It is unclear whether anyone will be displaced.
