Man on probation arrested for drunk driving, gun possession

MILWAUKEE -- 21-year-old Vincent Paige, a man on probation for reckless driving causing bodily harm and resisting/obstruction, was arrested Monday night, April 9th for a drunk driving rollover crash and illegal gun possession. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department got a call about the rollover crash on I-43 near Walnut St. around 8:30 p.m.

A witness said Paige's vehicle was traveling over 80mph and tried to fit between two cars, striking one, before flipping over and landing on its roof. Paige admitted to police he was speeding, and lost control while changing lanes.

The three passengers riding with Paige were able to safely exit the vehicle. All three were taken to Froedtert Hospital, and treated for minor injuries. The person in the vehicle struck by Paige was not injured.

Deputies took Paige into custody after he blew a .15 on the breathalyzer. Deputies also found a .40 caliber handgun in the glove box, and a magazine with 13 bullets. Paige was already serving a nine-month probation sentence for gun charges stemming from an October 2011 case. Deputies say Paige admitted to illegally owning the gun.

Paige was cited for a first offense OWI - Causing Injury, Unreasonable/Imprudent Speed, and Class A Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering Safety While Intoxicated. If convicted, Paige could face nine months in prison.
