Man killed, another person suffers life-threatening injuries in crash in Waukesha

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police say a 56-year-old man was killed in a crash near Bluemound and Springdale Road on Tuesday evening, March 1st. A second person suffered life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened around 5:00 p.m., and involved a car and a pickup truck. Both suffered significant damage.

A 56-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Michael Marquette of Shawano.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was the sole occupant of that vehicle.

A Waukesha Police Accident Reconstruction Specialist was called to investigate the crash scene.

A preliminary investigation has revealed the pickup truck was headed north on Springdale, and the car was headed south. The preliminary investigation indicates the car turned in front of the truck prior to the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in this crash. No one has been arrested or cited.
