Man caught in subway doors dragged to his death in NY
NEW YORK — A commuter trying to get onto a train just as its doors were closing became caught in those doors and was dragged to his death in Queens, an MTA official told WPIX.
The incident happened about 6:45 p.m. Monday at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station, the agency's spokesman said.
The man, who has not been identified, was trying to board a southbound F train when he became stuck and was dragged as the subway pulled out of the station, officials said.
He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Further details were not immediately available. An investigation is underway, the MTA said.
