Man arrested for reckless homicide after four-year-old child seriously injured at home passes away

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials are investigating a homicide case involving a four-year-old boy who passed away as a result of injuries suffered at his home on Friday, April 17th.

The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a four-year-old child who had been injured in a home-related accident in the 8500 block of County Highway W in the Town of Mitchell on Friday. The child was seriously injured -- and taken to Children's Hospital via Flight for Life.

As an investigation into this incident progressed, Sheriff's officials learned the child passed away as a result of the injuries he suffered, and detectives discovered those injuries may have been intentionally inflicted.

A man has been taken into custody for reckless homicide. He hasn't yet been formally charged.
