Man arrested after leading police on two high-speed chases
KENOSHA -- The Kenosha County Police Department arrested a male suspect after he led them and other police departments on two high-speed chases early Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the first chase began around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when a Kenosha police officer spotted a vehicle with stolen license plates from Lake Geneva. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect fled the scene, leading police on a two mile chase.
Police lost sight of the vehicle after two miles, but later spotted the vehicle near the Kenosha-Pleasant Prairie border.
After police spotted the vehicle, a second chase began. The second chase occurred around 12:50 a.m. and ended five minutes later when the vehicle hit stop sticks around 1:00 a.m. near Highway 50 and 124th Avenue.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department found the suspect in the marshy area near Highway 50 and I-94.
