Lifeguards rescue man at Racine's North Beach

RACINE -- Lifeguards at North Beach in Racine safely removed a 23-year-old man from the water Thursday afternoon, June 28th.

Officials say lifeguards noticed the man down in the water, and say he apparently dove into what the thought was deeper water when his head struck a sand bar.

Lifeguards called an ambulance and the man was taken to the hospital. Officials say they do not believe the man's injuries are serious.
