Leather jackets are riding resumés for a Harley riders
GREENFIELD (WITI) -- A motorcycle rider's leather jacket is like a riding resumé. It reflects that person's favorite, memorable ride, an organization they are a part of, and maybe includes a souvenir of a special place.
George Boan has been adding to his jacket since 1998. On this day, he was getting some medal from a group of bikers from Shanghai.
"They offer you something you in turn offer them something for a memento back to them," said Boan.
Bill Austin is an experienced collector -- of experience.
"I am a veteran of the United States Army. This is my name tag. Got my rank, my dad's rank, my unit patch, my dad's unit patch," said Austin.
Not all memories make the riders smile. As one rider told FOX6 News, the people who wear patches, it's a part of their life. Some of it is good, some of it is bad.
