Lake Parkway extension gets okay from County Board committee

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Board's Transportation, Public Works & Transit Committee okayed on Wednesday, May 9th a resolution to move forward with the proposed extension of the Lake Parkway into Oak Creek.

The resolution now requests that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation conduct the necessary preliminary engineering and environmental impact studies for the extension of 794 to Highway 100 (south of Ryan Road).

A recent public hearing on the parkway extension showed roughly 70% of residents in the area support the idea.
