Kohl's installs 4,490 cut-outs to raise breast cancer awareness
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- This year alone, some nearly 4,500 women in Wisconsin will hear the words, "You have breast cancer." In an effort to raise awareness and support for the fight against breast cancer, Kohl's Department Stores brought that number to life.
Kohl's employees and volunteers planted 4,490 pink, plastic cutouts on the lawn next to the Milwaukee Art Museum on Monday, April 29th. Each cutout represents a woman who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
Kohl’s is a local presenting sponsor of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The company has donated nearly $5 million to the American Cancer Society Midwest Division. The donation, which supports breast cancer research, education and patient-assistance programs, represents the largest corporate gift ever made to the American Cancer Society Midwest Division.CLICK HERE to sign up and take part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, May 4th.
