Kenosha police investigate death of five-month-old girl, third infant death in February

KENOSHA — The Kenosha Police Department is investigating the death of a five-month-old girl.

The Kenosha Fire Department responded to a home on 61st Street around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 11th in reference to the child not breathing. The infant was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

The incident remains under investigation -- and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Kenosha police say this is the third infant death this month.

Last week, police responded to two infant deaths. Both are still under investigation.

Police say a seven-month-old baby boy was found unresponsive by his mother in an apartment near 45th Street and 36th Avenue in Kenosha on Tuesday, February 2nd. The child died at the hospital.

Just one day later, a five-month-old infant died at a home on 22nd Avenue. Officials say it appears as though the infant died during the night.
