It's already time to start thinking about next summer! Rock 'n Sole Run registration OPEN!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The fifth annual Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run presented by BMO Harris Bank will be held Saturday, June 13 at 7:00 am in 2015. Online registration for the 2015 event is open now at Rocknsolerun.com.

Watch for exciting details on the celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run over the coming months.

Once again, this year’s race will include a half marathon, quarter marathon and 5k route. The half and quarter marathon courses will remain the same in 2015, and the 5k route will be announced in the coming weeks.

As in 2014, the Start Line will be located in the Third Ward on the corner of Young Street and Erie Street and the Finish Line will be located near the Summerfest South Gate. And, half and quarter marathon participants will be able to “Take it to the Bridge!” as they run one direction over the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge (permit pending).

Registration fees for this year’s run have not increased and participants are encouraged to register early to save up to $55 in the half marathon, $35 in the quarter marathon and $20 in the 5k. The first price increase for the half and quarter marathons will take place January 1, 2015 and the 5K price will increase on March 12, 2015.

Race participants also receive great perks including tech shirts for half and quarter marathon runners, a T-shirt for 5k participants, a finisher’s medal for all participants, one FREE Summerfest General Admission ticket, one FREE beer for registered participants 21 and older and a Post-Race Party at Henry Maier Festival Park featuring live music and more!

In addition, the Kids Run to Read will return for its second year, and kids ages 3 – 12 can also register now at Rocknsolerun.com.

The 2015 Kids Run to Read will benefit SHARP Literacy, Inc. and Summerfest Foundation Inc.

Young participants will have the opportunity to run approximately one mile (actual distances vary by age group) and finish the event by running through the same Finish Line as the Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run participants.

Registered children will also receive a T-shirt, race bib, race goody bag, finisher’s medal and healthy snacks.

Registration for the Kids Run to Read is $12 in advance or $17 at the event on race day if spots are available.

The Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run presented by BMO Harris Bank will kick-off and celebrate the weeks leading up to Summerfest 2015 which runs June 24 – 28 and June 30 – July 5, 2015. Summerfest will be closed Monday, June 29.
