Racine investigators say the vehicle that was initially pulled over fled -- and crashed into another vehicle. During the course of this incident, a 57-year-old man who was riding a bicycle in the area was also struck and injured. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"I was turning left at the intersection here. By the time I went into westbound traffic, my car was flying out of nowhere," said Mark Domzil, the driver of a car that ended up in the front of a vacuum store.

Domzil, a father of four, got out to find debris everywhere.

"Stood back and immediately called family, said I'm okay, but the car is wrecked. I'm not gonna make it home to hockey practice," Domzil said.

Domzil learned his co-worker was in the red vehicle also involved.

"I was not really focused on what else was going on. Made sure my co-worker was OK and I walked away," Domzil said. "It could have been a lot worse for myself."

Domzil's car happened to be new.

"Thankfully, the brand new Jetta probably saved my life 'cause it was brand new. Every airbag went off and all the safety features worked," Domzil said.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle was taken into custody.
