A family's pain floods the street as loved ones gather around police tape and squads.

"In broad daylight, my nephew just got shot up," said Anthony Vance, victim's uncle.

Hit with a reality of Milwaukee violence, family says 34-year-old Tony Vance, became the 135th homicide victim this year.

"It's sad. It is sad. I mean the city of Milwaukee is sad," said Anthony.

Police say the Milwaukee man was shot while driving down Sherman Boulevard around 1:30 p.m.

Gunfire rang out from another vehicle and bullets punctured the victim's car as it careened into a light pole.

Loved ones say Vance was recently released from jail. They say he was dedicated to his family and trying to get his life back on track.

"He would give me the shoes off his feet if I needed them," said Anthony.

No arrests have been made and now the victim's family is asking for answers.

"If anybody's seen anything, heard anything, I would like for them to come forward so we can get some closure," said Anthony.

A family struck with grief is felt by many others asking for the violence to stop.

"It's real bad out here right now in the city of Milwaukee," said Anthony.
