Illinois man dies after his motorcycle collides with another

WALWORTH COUNTY -- A 57-year-old McHenry, Illinois man died from injuries suffered after a motorcycle crash in the Town of Lyons on Saturday afternoon, October 15th.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m., Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Lyons Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a report of a motorcycle crash on South Road approximately 3/10 of a mile north of Highway 50. First responders located a red Boss Hoss motorcycle lying on its side. The driver of the Boss Hoss motorcycle was identified as Timothy Adkins, the man from McHenry. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the preliminary investigation revealed Adkins was traveling southbound on South Road. While attempting to negotiate a curve, he lost control of his motorcycle striking a second southbound motorcycle. The driver and passenger on that second motorcycle were not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
