MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Your daily commute may look a little different come Monday morning, March 9th, and it may stay that way for years to come. Two major ramp closures are set to impact motorists along the Zoo Interchange. One ramp will be closed until this fall, and the other will remain shut down until 2017.
With warmer temperatures Sunday, Eric Germershausen fired up his grill. For the entire time he's lived in his home near the Zoo Interchange, there's been one season he's been unable to escape: construction season.
"When you live right next to the freeway, you get used to the noise. Looking forward to the completion," Germershausen said.
Adler Street runs parallel to I-94 and residents living there are bracing for the latest round of construction.
"We need to close two of our ramps. I would definitely recommend planning ahead," Mark Klipstein with the Wisconsin DOT said.
Monday, the ramp from northbound I-894/U.S. 45 to westbound I-94 will close, and it will remain closed through the fall.

"That`s a system ramps that will actually be closed all the way to November of 2017," Klipstein said.
Klipstein says the Zoo Interchange is outdated and needs to be reconstructed. Ed Haas agrees.
"It's well long overdue," Haas said.
One benefit for residents living on Adler Street is that the DOT will upgrade Adler Street and put in a sound barrier to help muffle the constant flow of traffic on I-94.
"If you`re out in your backyard trying to grill out -- have people over -- it`s pretty noisy. Looking forward to having this completed. It`s going to be very nice once it`s done," Haas said.

• I-894/US 45 North full closure at Greenfield Avenue (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
• I-894/US 45 North to I-94 West system ramp closure (10 p.m. – late 2015)
• I-94 West to I-894/US 45 South system ramp closure (11:59 p.m. – late 2017)
