Harley riders take part in inaugural international skills competition
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- With just hours to go before the kickoff of the big Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, some riders took part on the inaugural Harley-Davidson sponsored international skills competition on Wednesday, August 28th.
It happened at Harley's Wauwatosa Product and Development Plant.
A course was set up with eight different patterns for competitors. All the patterns have a different skill that helps riders while riding on the street.
So why did it take 110 years before Harley decided to host an event like this?
"This is kinda like a subculture within H.O.G., within Harley Owners Group and it's kinda a ground swell that people started doing this at local and state rallies and we would say 'yea that's fine, just be safe.' That's where I kinda caught on to it and said 'we have an opportunity to do something truly Harley, truly huge' and we've been planning this for over a year now," Nathan Boyd with Harley-Davidson said.
The finals are Thursday at the H.O.G. only rally at the Summerfest grounds.
