Gov. Walker withdraws Board of Regents student nomination

MADISON (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker has caused some controversy by withdrawing a nominee for the Board of Regents.

Joshua Inglett, a student at UW-Platteville, was nominated on Monday, June 10th, by Governor Walker, as the student appointee for the board.

Walker now says Inglett's name has been withdrawn.

"We've got plenty of other good candidates and we're not going to get into specifics about it. We made the decision in our office to withdraw the nomination and we will be submitting another nomination for a student to be one of the regents," said Walker.

Democrats say Walker recalled the name because Inglett signed a recall petition against the Governor two years ago.

A new student nominee is expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
