MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Bikers filled the Summerfest grounds on Thursday, August 29th, as the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration kicked off -- and many of them were wearing unique get-ups, in an effort to stand out from the crowd.

When Harley-Davidson motorcycle owners are spending tens of thousands of dollars to customize their bikes and you shouldn't be surprised to have the 110th anniversary celebration also serves as just about the funkiest fashion show you can find.

"I'm from New Orleans. We gotta dress up for something, you know?" Carlton Ware said.

The unique outfits FOX6 spotted on the Summerfest grounds on Thursday are a part of Harley-Davidson's subculture, which is all about expressing one's unique identity.

"We're Harley riders. We're different individuals. We're not cut outta the same cloth as everybody else. I just like being the center of attention," Milwaukee's Mike Durst told FOX6 News.

"They're just astounded that somebody would be wearing something like this. It's something so different. Something non-traditional," Durst said.

Durst says police have stopped him -- to take pictures!
