Former Kmart store on E. Sunset Drive in Waukesha to become Dollar Tree, Xperience Fitness
WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Lockard Development has announced they have purchased the property located at 120 East Sunset Drive in Waukesha -- the site of the former Kmart store. Plans have been approved for a $14,000,000, renovation of the 115,000 square foot building will also include a 10,000 square foot building addition and two new out-lots.
“We are excited to be renovating a space that has been a blight on an otherwise bright community,” said Robert Smith, President of Lockard. “Lockard has signed leases from two major retailers for the facility, Dollar Tree and Xperience Fitness, and we strongly believe we can bring a tenant mix to Sunset Crossing that will complement the local economy.”
Randy Roth, President of Endeavour Corp., Lockard’s development partner on the project, stated “This area of Waukesha is seeing tremendous investment by retailers like Meijer, and now Dollar Tree and Xperience Fitness. We are grateful for the cooperation of the City of Waukesha, and we are excited to announce more new retailers in the months ahead.”
Construction is slated to begin January 1st, 2015 with an opening date tentatively scheduled for Fall 2015.
