Five drunken drivers arrested in weekend operation

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Five people were arrested under the Milwaukee County Driving Under the Influence initiative this past weekend. The initiative was in operation from 6 p.m. on Friday, July 12th through 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 14th. The average blood alcohol level of the offenders was .14 -- well above the legal limit for driving.

A news release issued by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says repeat offenders, each on a second offense, were 31-year-old Jessica Piencikowski of Kenosha and 40-year-old Patricia Warren of Milwaukee.

Officials say 29-year-old Miguel Romo, Jr. of Milwaukee, a first-time DUI-offender, was involved in a hit-and-run crash when he sideswiped another vehicle westbound on I-94 near 76th Street. The car he struck followed him off the freeway at the 84th Street exit and deputies interviewed him at his home.

Other first-time offenders included 26-year-old Monique Long of Walworth and 26-year-old Tyler Holcomb of Milwaukee.
