Firefighters battle house fire near 38th & Rohr in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee firefighters battled a house fire near 38th and Rohr on the city's north side late morning on Friday, March 7th.

Ironically, Milwaukee firefighters were conducting training near the house that caught fire when the 911 calls started to come in.

The firefighters participating in the training were able to see smoke coming from the home and also observed children climbing and/or jumping out of a second-floor window on to a first-floor overhang.

The children were then able to climb off the overhang down to the ground and to safety.

Everyone got out of the building safely.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
