Fire forces 30 people from their apartments in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- A fire at an apartment complex forces 30 people out of their units and into the cold on Milwaukee's south side early Saturday morning, December 8th.

The fire broke out at a building at 31st and National.

The fire department evacuated everyone and cut power to the 14-unit building.

The Red Cross arranged for a city bus to be on site to keep people warm while they figured out where to stay for the night.

A witness tells FOX6 News the fire appeared to have started in the basement of the building.

The Milwaukee Fire Department has not indicated the actual cause of the fire.
