DOT scheduled to start work on bridge on Capitol Drive in Pewaukee

PEWAUKEE -- Beginning Monday, July 6th, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to start work on a bridge rehabilitation project on WIS 190 (Capitol Drive) in the city of Pewaukee, Waukesha County.

The project limits run from Five Fields Road to Springdale Road, a distance of just under three miles.

Scheduled to begin the week of July 13th, traffic will be down to one lane in each direction. During peak travel times, WisDOT is anticipating an approximate 28 minute delay.

To avoid these delays an alternative route will be available:

The single lane closures will be in effect during Labor Day.

Built in 1963, the pavement is deteriorated, while the twin bridges over WIS 74 are in poor condition, reaching the end of their life cycle. Improvements are needed to maintain the safety of the structures.

The project will involve base patching and diamond grinding, crack and joint repair, a deck replacement of the westbound WIS 190 Bridge over DuPlainville Road and an asphalt overlay of the eastbound and westbound bridges over WIS 74.

The contractor, Lunda Construction Co., is planning on completing the $2.1 Million project in fall 2015. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
