Discovery Channel says Nik Wallenda's next walk is in Chicago

NEW YORK (AP) — Nik Wallenda is taking his high-wire act to the Windy City.

The Discovery network said Thursday the aerialist will attempt a tightrope walk in Chicago this fall, probably in November. Discovery will televise the event live, just as it did last year when Wallenda's walk across the Grand Canyon area of Arizona drew more than 10 million viewers.

Discovery President Eileen O'Neill would not say exactly where Wallenda will walk as the network is still involved in the permit process. Chicago is home to the 1,451-foot Willis Tower, the nation's second-highest building.

Like other networks, Discovery has seen the business advantages of high-profile live events.
