Developing: Female student allegedly assaulted on Carroll University campus

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police are investigating an alleged sexual assault on the campus of Carroll University.

School officials say it happened on Friday afternoon, September 18th, when a man grabbed a female student inappropriately while she was walking near Frontier Hall and the railroad tracks south of Williams Street. The man then took off. The student did not sustain any injuries.

Authorities say the suspect was a male, white, about 5'5" tall, wearing a blue sweatshirt and long pants.

University officials issued the following statement as a result of this incident:

"The safety and well being of our students is a top priority at Carroll University. We are fortunate to be located in a quiet, residential neighborhood and this incident is atypical. Carroll’s Department of Public Safety regularly patrols campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we have increased our presence near the scene of the incident.

"Carroll’s Department of Public Safety also offers a free, 24/7 shuttle service to all students and we are encouraging students to take advantage of that service.  We have notified our students and campus community to use caution and provided them with tips on staying safe when walking alone. Our Department of Public Safety continues to work closely and in cooperation with the Waukesha Police Department as they investigate this incident and work to apprehend the suspect."
