Dept. of Justice suing Instant Tax Service corporate headquarters

MILWAUKEE -- The Department of Justice is suing the corporate headquarters of a tax preparation business recently profiled in a FOX6 Contact 6 report.

Instant Tax Service and its corporate owner, Fez Ogbazion, are facing allegations of fraud, along with numerous franchises in Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas and Kansas City.

The Milwaukee franchise featured in Contact 6's report was not named in the suit.

The Justice Department alleges much of what Contact 6 learned from talking with FOX6 viewers who sent in complaints about the Instant Tax Service near 81st and Appleton - that the business uses paycheck stubs from mostly low-income customers looking for loans.

The complaints say Instant Tax Service then intentionally prepares and files fraudulent tax returns that promise large refund checks. Instant Tax Service then draws large fees from the checks without the customer's knowledge or approval.
