Crews search landfill a second day in connection with Dwyer case

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The search of a Menomonee Falls landfill continued for a second day on Sunday, October 27th -- Milwaukee police hoping to find clues related to the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer.

The search concluded around 6 p.m. with no results. Crews are scheduled to search the area for a third time Monday.

Dwyer's father, Tony, tells FOX6 he becomes more frustrated with each passing day yielding no new information in the case.

Authorities believe 38-year-old Kris Zocco is the last person to see Dwyer on October 11th. Zocco was charged with five drug-related crimes last weekend, but posted bail on Monday, October 21st.

Zocco was taken back into custody just days later and charged with 17 counts of child pornography.

“This defendant is a very key suspect in the missing person and probably homicide investigation so I think also poses some significant flight risk,” said Assistant D.A. Danielle Chojnacki.

Zocco has not been charged in connection to Dwyer's disappearance.

A volunteer search crew continues to canvass Milwaukee's east side near Lafayette Pl. and Summit Ave. where Dwyer was last seen.
