Convicted felon arrested for armed robbery; police seek second suspect
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- District 3 officers from the Milwaukee Police Department arrested a convicted felon wanted for an armed robbery and are seeking a second suspect in the case.
Officers were dispatched to the area of N. 22nd and W. Wells at about 8:25 p.m. on December 9th for a report of an armed robbery.
The victim, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, was walking when two suspects approached him. One of the suspects had a gun and both demanded his valuables. The suspects took his cell phone and wallet and fled on foot.
About twenty minutes later, officers near N. 29th and W. Wells saw a suspect that matched the description given by the victim. They attempted to stop the suspect, but he ran away. The suspect, a 26-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody a short time later after trying to hide in some bushes.
Police are currently searching for the second suspect.
The man arrested is a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 2005 and felony convictions of burglary and substantial battery.
MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
