Convicted felon arrested after pointing gun at victim in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police arrested a convicted felon after he pointed a shotgun at a victim on the city's west side early on Sunday, July 26th.

Officers responded to the neighborhood near 25th and Cherry just before 2 a.m. for a report of a subject with a gun. The victim, a 42-year-old woman, told officers she was on her porch when someone she knew approached her and pointed a gun at her before fleeing.

As officers began searching for the suspect, a caller living near 22nd and Cherry told 911 dispatchers she saw a man in the alley matching the description of the suspect with a shotgun.  Officers located the suspect, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man, near 22nd and Vliet St. and arrested him.

The man has a felony conviction in Illinois. He now faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon in this incident.
