Contractor strikes electrical lines at N. 27th Street project

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County's DPW says a contractor working on the N. 27th Street construction project hit electrical lines on Thursday, August 29th, which may impact service to several traffic lights and street lights in the area.

The area affected is bounded by N. 27th Street on the east, N. 35th Street on the west, W. Highland Ave. on the north, and W. St. Paul on the south.

An assessment of the damage will be done Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

Based on information from that assessment, a plan will be created to correct the problem and keep the lights up and running while repairs are being made.

Traffic lights continue to work in this area, and portable STOP signs are available if the need arises.
