Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner recovering from hip surgery
BROOKFIELD -- Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner's (R-WI) is recovering from orthopaedic hip surgery after tripping and falling at a community event Saturday, August 25th in Butler.
Sensenbrenner's office released the following statement:
"Yesterday, while greeting constituents at a community event in Butler, WI, he caught his foot on wires, tripped, and fell. He sustained two bone fractures, one near his elbow, and another at the hip socket. According to his surgeon, the Congressman is doing very well and is resting comfortably at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI. As a result, Congressman and Cheryl Sensenbrenner will be unable to attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa. He will now embark on recovery and looks forward to returning to his congressional duties as soon as possible."
Sensenbrenner is former Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and he represents the Fifth Congressional District of Wisconsin.
