CLEARED: Wreck involving semi, two cars temporarily shut down I-94 near Zoo Interchange

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A wreck involving a semi and two cars forced officials to temporarily shut down a stretch of I-94 just west of Highway 100 in the Zoo Interchange Friday afternoon, November 14th.

Officials say the wreck happened around 12:15 p.m. A light pole was struck. It was severed -- but is not structurally sound.

While officials dealt with the wreck and the light pole, they shut down east and westbound I-94 to all traffic. Traffic on westbound I-94 was diverted onto northbound US 45. Drivers headed east on I-94 were diverted off the interstate at Moorland Rd.

Traffic began flowing on eastbound I-94 around 2:30 p.m. -- and then westbound traffic a short time later. Drivers were urged to avoid the area -- because traffic remained congested.
