Calumet County Sheriff's officials seeking suspect in stabbing

CALUMET COUNTY -- Calumet County Sheriff's officials are investigating a stabbing in Darboy Community Park that occurred around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5th.

Officials say a 73-year-old Darboy man was out for a walk, when he as approached by the suspect and asked to help locate the suspect's phone.

The suspect asked the victim to go into a wooded area where he was stabbed one time in the back. The suspect then fled in a northerly direction.

The victim was able to walk to a relative's residence and call 911.

Officers are attempting to locate the attacker. They describe him as a white man with a medium build, in his late teens or early 20s. They say he is 5'5" to 5'6" tall with dark hair.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black and green T-shirt with yellow on the left shoulder and yellow in the middle of the shirt, shorts and black tennis shoes.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
