Caledonia police investigate fatal crash on 6 Mile Rd.

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police are investigating a fatal accident that happened early Monday, April 2nd on Six Mile Rd. at Foley Rd.

A preliminary investigation shows an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a westbound vehicle. The eastbound vehicle then almost immediately collided head-on with another westbound vehicle driven by Michelle Schuechtermann. Schuectermann died in the collision.

The driver who first crossed the center line was taken to All Saints Hospital with serious injuries. The person who was first struck was not hurt.

Caledonia police are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident or helped assist the victims and left prior to police arriving to call Sgt. Brian Wall at 262-835-4423, extension 139.
