BUSTED: Man arrested for road rage, charged with 9th OWI

GREENFIELD (WITI) -- 50-year-old Dean Schaefer of Milwaukee was charged on Friday, April 18th with his 9th drunk driving offense. It happened after an alleged road rage incident in Greenfield on Thursday evening.
According to the criminal complaint, Greenfield dispatchers received a call reporting a road rage incident where a pickup truck was chasing a car on Hwy. 100 near Coldspring Road.
The driver of the car reported to police the pickup truck driven by Schaefer was chasing him and that Schaefer got out of his truck at a red light and approached him, yelling and pounding his fist.
Officers were able to locate and stop Schaefer near 92nd and Layton. Schaefer failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a blood test after a preliminary breath test registered .12, or more than the legal limit for driving.
Schaefer’s driving record shows eight previous convictions for OWI dating back to 1989.
If convicted, Schaefer faces up to ten years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
