In business news for Thursday, January 12th, 2012, a former tennis champ throws his support behind a Milwaukee charter school, and Southridge Mall may prohibit county buses from dropping people off on the property starting next month. Also, Summerfest announces a new and improved Rock 'n Sole run for Saturday, June 23rd.

Andre Agassi and Canyon Capital Realty Advisors are developing a property on Milwaukee's north side, where a new school will open in August. The Canyon-Agassi real estate fund will convert a former warehouse near 40th and Douglas into a kindergarten through fourth grade school. It will be leased to Lighthouse Academies of Wisconsin.

Southridge Mall may prohibit Milwaukee County Transit System buses from dropping people off on the property starting in February. The Greendale mall says there are concerns about noise and the traffic running through mall property. Right now, Southridge is served by five daily bus routes. A County Board committee will discuss options next week.

Summerfest has announced a new and improved Rock 'n Sole run for Saturday, June 23rd. It will be the second annual race, now with three distances, including a half and quarter marathon as well as a 5K route.
