Bus driver assaulted, same bus vandalized just blocks later

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault against a bus driver. It happened Wednesday just before 5:30 p.m.

The 46-year-old bus driver says the attacker boarded the bus and attempted to ride without paying the fare. The suspect struck the bus driver in the eye when he demanded payment. The driver then pursued the attacker who fled the scene.

When the driver got back to the bus, he notified dispatch. Several passengers who witnessed the assault left before deputies arrived.

Ironically, a road rage incident involving the same bus took place just 20 minutes later. Apparently a driver cut the bus off, then got out and punched the window of the bus door. That shattered the glass in the door.
