Burglary suspect busted: Victim, District 5 officers work together in arrest
MILWAUKEE -- A convicted felon and career criminal is in police custody after a victim and District Five officers worked together to locate him, officials say.
Officers responded to the neighborhood near 26th and Atkinson around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28th for a report of a burglary. When they arrived, the victim, a 41-year-old Milwaukee woman, told officers she saw the male suspect inside her house.
The suspect then fled and the victim was able to locate him a short distance away. The officers took over from there and arrested the suspect, a 59-year-old Milwaukee man, near 26th and Ruby.
Officials say the suspect is a convicted felon with a criminal history dating back to 1977.
MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
