Bucks play season opener without new floor design

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Bucks opened the regular season at the BMO Harris Bradley Center Saturday night, November 2nd, without their brand new floor design.

Representatives say the floor was temporarily removed due to safety concerns after several players slipped and fell during the final preseason game on October 25th.

"There were some problems we didn't understand that we have studied very closely and are taking the total safest way to make sure that those situations that we had are corrected," said John Steinmiller, Executive Vice President of Business Operations. "Within two or three weeks the new floor will be corrected."

Fans say they're looking forward to a new season with or without a new floor.

"It doesn't really matter as long as they play well," said Felix Ingram.

"The floor doesn't really make it," said Ronan James. "It's the fan base that makes it more than anything else."

The Bucks did offer a special ticket deal because of the floor mess up -- for the price of a home-opener, some fans will receive complimentary tickets for games until the new flood is replaced.
