Black Friday sales not just good for only clothing and electronics stores

Black Friday - it's one of the busiest shopping days of the year for electronic stores and clothing stores. But mom and pop hardware stores also see the Black Friday madness.

Sterling's True Value in Milwaukee is nearly all sold out of its entire christmas collection. Employees put the entire stock on the floor, so what you see is what you get. That includes, Christmas lights, a limited amount of trees and a few inflatable Santas.

However, they're also running low on the items that hook up all of those decorations like extension cords, adapters and timers. Why is it selling so fast? The store says it's because of the good weather.

Owner Brian Sterling says, "Black Friday was good, not only everybody's cleaning their yards, people are buying snowblowers already. You can tell people are getting the head start on this, this year."

The Sterling's True Value also credits the recently closed Lowes store in Brown Deer as a reason for its influx of business. Once they shut down, the mom and pop store on Teutonia Ave. immediately saw business pick up.
