Bikers celebrate at Harley-Davidson 110th block parties
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee's East Side is buzzing with bikers as the party pours into the streets during the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary celebration.
"We was here for the 100th, 105th and decided to come back for the 110th," said Richard McKinney. "You can walk up to people, talk to anybody."
Businesses surrounding North Avenue pulled out all the stops to bring in bikers -- including free parking, drink specials, live music, and girls in bikinis.
"We've been standing in the street all day, shaking it," said Kellie Johnson.
Party-goers say the big-city street party had the atmosphere of a small-town block party, connected by their motorcycles.
"It's just a big family. Everybody gets along -- they got bikes in common. Everybody rides and enjoys spending time with each other," said McKinney.
The city is holding two more block parties over the next two days. On Saturday, August 31st, it will be held on N. Milwaukee St. and on Sunday, September 1st, you’ll find it on E. Juneau.
