Bicyclist struck, injured by hit-and-run driver in Racine County

RACINE -- Racine County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene of a hit-and-run accident involving a car and bicycle in the Town of Norway early Tuesday morning, August 11th.

It happened just before 1 a.m. on STH 36 near W. Loomis Road.

The victim, a 38-year-old man from Waterford had been riding his bicycle southbound on STH 36 when he was struck from behind by a dark colored vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene.  A black passenger side mirror was located at the scene.

The victim was transported by Wind Lake Rescue to Froedtert Hospital, where he was later released. He sustained a broken collarbone, a bruised hip, and minor cuts and abrasions.

The investigation is ongoing.
