Benefit held for Cary Robuck's family in Racine County

RACINE -- Cary Robuck, one of the victims of the mass shooting at Azana Salon & Spa, was laid to rest on Friday, October 26th. The community is also helping to raise money for her teenage daughter.

Long lines wound through the Horlick High School field house on Friday. People waited to pick up a purple t-shirt with a special message. It read, "One big city, one big family." On the sleeve, it reads, "Lift us up, Cary us through."

"It holds so much more meaning than just a t-shirt," said Gina Vanderheyden, who bought one of the shirts.

Every shirt sold benefit's Robuck's family.

Kaci Schonert is a friend of Robuck's daughter. The two are on the cheerleading squad at Horlick together.

"It's overwhelming, it's incredible to watch that a whole community can come behind one family  with one tragedy," said Schonert.

Schonert volunteers with dozens of others, helping out a hurting friend.

Within just minutes, all the t-shirts were sold out. Still, people waited in line to order more. And in another line, stylists put in purple hair extensions in honor of Robuck.
