"Back to school is always chaotic:" Amazon's back to school shopping recommendations

KENOSHA — Pens, paper and backpacks typically make the cut when it comes to back to school shopping lists. But, there are other items that could the upcoming school year a bit easier.

Contact 6's Katrina Cravy chats about back to school trends with Amazon's Stephany Rochon.

Those back to school shopping lists are quickly being fulfilled inside the Amazon Fulfillment Center.

"Back to school is always chaotic," said Stephany Rochon, a spokesperson for Amazon.

Rochon says Amazon makes it easy to get all the standard back to school supplies. They've create a specific page just for back to school shoppers.

"It has all of the most popular back to school items. So, it's all in one place you don't have to go searching throughout the whole site to find it," explained Rochon.

Shoppers will not only find the typical back to school items, but other items that can help make the school year a bit more stress-free. Many of the items they see parents and student buying have to do with meals.

First, you no longer have to carry an extra cooler or ice pack to keep a lunch cold. Instead, you can use a PackIt's freezable lunch bag with a ice pack built-in.

"It's really convenient. Pop it in the freezer, put your lunch it and you're good to go for the day," Rochon said.

Along those same lines, you don't need to mess with plastic sandwich bags anymore. There are reusable sandwich bags from LunchSkins that can be easily washed out.

"You can reuse it over and over," said Rochon.

If you're little one is not so little anymore and heading off to college, when you're shopping for their back to school needs — still think small.

"What can they use in multiple ways that doesn't take up a lot of space and is still budget conscious?" Rochon said.

There a few items Amazon recommends including the Magic Bullet.

"It's really small. It takes up really minimal counter space," Rochon said.

Another recommendation, a George Foreman grill.

"The cleaning is so easy. You just wipe it down. It's perfect for the dorm room," explained Rochon.

Finally, Rochon suggests buying a mini Crockpot for college students. She says students can start a meal-for-one in the morning and it will be ready to go at night.

"It's perfect for a kids with a busy schedule especially around finals week," Rochon said.

At the end of the day, the best advice for parents and students is to makes things as convenient for themselves as possible, which will help create a more stress-free school year.
