Armed suspect shot by Milwaukee police identified

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police officially released on Monday, April 29th, the identification of the armed suspect shot by an officer on Saturday. He is 46-year-old Chris Nowicki.

Milwaukee police say physical evidence, as well as video evidence, corroborates the officers' statements that Nowicki was advancing on them while holding two large butcher knives and refusing the officers repeated verbal commands to drop them.

As is standard procedure, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office continue to investigate the incident.  The officers remain on administrative duty pending the completion of the investigation.
