Armed robbery suspect arrested after crashing stolen car, second suspect sought

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Police arrested one armed robbery suspect and are seeking another after the pair crashed a stolen car.

District 3 officers responded to the are of N. 18th and Galena at about 4:40 p.m. on December 18th where they met with an armed robbery victim. The victim, a 57-year-old Milwaukee woman, was about to enter her vehicle when one of the suspects approached her, displayed a gun, and demanded her car. The other suspect got into the driver’s seat and they fled in the vehicle.

According to police, about ten minutes later, officers located the stolen car near N. 21st and  W. Highland and began to pursue it. The car eventually hit a stop sign near N. 25th Street and W. Highland Avenue and the two suspects fled on foot.

One suspect, a 17-year-old Milwaukee male, was quickly taken into custody and police are still seeking the second suspect.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
