Andrew Tate and brother Tristan to fight UK extradition from US

Social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate plan to fight being sent to the United Kingdom where they face a host of rape and sex trafficking charges.

The brothers were detained in Miami over the weekend and appeared in a federal court for the first time on Monday as a judge weighs whether they meet the conditions to be extradited.
The Tate brothers’ attorney, Joseph McBride, told the court that his clients should not be sent to the U.K. to stand trial because "they’ve never done nothing wrong. They shouldn’t be extradited for crimes they did not commit."
Lawyer suggests political motivation
McBride also hinted at the Tates’ arrests being politically motivated, telling reporters that "there’s no question about it." He alleged his clients’ case was a big factor in the recent fall of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, although he did not say how.
McBride also indicated that the brothers were arrested after meeting "friends in Washington, D.C." Again, though, he was light on details when it came to who they may have met or why.
The charges
The Tate brothers had already faced rape, human trafficking, and other charges relating to allegations by three women regarding events that occurred between 2012 and 2015 in North London, when prosecutors revealed even more charges Saturday in connection with four more victims.
Including prior charges, Andrew Tate, 39, now faces a total of 10 counts of rape. Among the new allegations against him are three related to sex trafficking, three of assault, and 19 for offenses connected to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
Tristan Tate, 38, faces two more counts of rape, in addition to the three already filed against him. The other new charges include a single count of sexual assault, and three counts related to sex trafficking, prosecutors said.

The brothers, who are former professional kick-boxers, are proponents of hypermasculinity and have gained millions of followers, particularly among young men and boys, by advocating a life of luxury and misogyny.
The Tate brothers are dual U.S. and British citizens and moved to Romania in 2016, where they were arrested six years later on allegations of sexual exploitation. They denied the charges and the cases ended up not going forward because of legal and procedural irregularities.
