American Red Cross assisting family of seven after house fire on N. 51st Boulevard

MILWAUKEE -- American Red Cross officials say they are assisting a family of seven after a fire at their home on Tuesday afternoon, December 8th.

It happened at a home along N. 51st Boulevard in Milwaukee.

Members of the Red Cross disaster action team say a father and his girlfriend lived in the single family home, along with four daughters and a granddaughter ranging in age from 3 to 19.

The disaster action team provided financial assistance to the family for overnight lodging.

The Red Cross also provided comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other personal hygiene items.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of trained volunteers.
